After using most of the available light shooting in the upper slots of Rock Canyon, I found the day getting late and myself rushing through the
canyon in rapidly loosing light. As I came around a bend, trying to reach the still distant climb out of the canyon before it was completely dark, I saw
this scene and was stopped dead in my tracks. What wonderful colors! Happily, I had a headlamp with me and had marked the climb earlier in
the day with a rock carren to help find it. I stopped and shot the sunset until it was almost fully dark, and found my out of the canyon and across the
open desert to my car on the dark and moonless night. It was worth the delay.
