After leaving Denver in the middle of the night to reach Colorado's canyon country before sunrise to start a few days of desert shooting, I narrowly
avoided being flattened by a house-sized rockfall that punched through the bridge deck of I-70 in Glenwood Canyon. I made it through that stretch
of highway just before the fall happened!!
After shooting photography all that day in both Colorado and Utah, I raced across the desert south-west of Moab in an attempt to reach and capture
the patchy light and beautiful scenery at sunset. I reached this overlook as the sun popped out for a few minutes just before the sun set. Quickly I
set up my camera to capture this composition. Believe it or not, the actual photo is even more intense than this web image - you need to see a
physical print! The sunset's intense reflections off the cliff faces are incredible.
